IT and Engineering Week 2014

With the theme: “I-Transform: Transforming Internet of Things, new trends of Information Technology”, the IT and Engineering Week 2014 Celebration was held February 14-15, 2014 at Interface Computer College, Manila.
The annual event that showcased the academic knowledge, talents and skills of Interfacers through various competitions was planned, organized and supervised by the Association of Information and Communication Technology (A.I.C.T.) and the Association of Computer Engineering and Electronic Technician Students (A.C.E.E.T.S.)

Pre-event activities were held weeks before the scheduled celebration. Mr. Mark Anthony Ureta, an Alumnus and one of the A.I.C.T. Advisers, conducted the “Game Mo ’To Level Up”, a game development seminar. It happened on January 30, 2014.

On the other hand, Engr. Danilo De Leon, the A.C.E.E.T.S. Adviser, facilitated and shared his ideas and knowledge on Auto CADD by conducting the “Auto CADD for Beginners” Seminar last February 7, 2014. Both seminars happened inside the Computer Laboratory Room which enabled attendees to have hands-on training and tutorial sessions.

This year’s celebration was highlighted by the IT Software and IT Hardware Competitions. C, Java, Visual Basic 6.0 Programming, Graphics Design and Animation Competitions were part of the IT Software category while the “Teknik Ko Kaya Mo?” a PC Assembly-Disassembly Contest, was part of the IT Hardware Competitions.

Meanwhile, Interfacers accomplished different obstacles and challenges to complete the “E-Survive: Amazing Race”. Smart and intelligent Interfacers battled out in the annual IT Quiz Bee: Battle of the Brain where participants answered General Information questions related to Information Technology. Minute to Win IT Games, Pinoy IT Henyo, Four Pics One Word and Pingpong Obstacle Challenge were also enjoyed by the students. Different booths were also seen during the celebration through the efforts of the Young Managers and Secretarial Club (Y.M.S.C) and the Interface-Society of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management (I-STOHRM) Services.

Engr. Vicente P. Jandusay, the Head of the Technical Department, shared his knowledge and ideas by conducting the “Internet of Things” Seminar.

Different movies and MTV entries entertained the entire ICC family, as part of the MTV and Movie Making Contest. (For complete list of winners, see below)

The event would not be possible, without the concerted efforts from Engr. Jandusay, Engr. Henry A. Campullo, the Head of the IT Department, A.I.C.T. and A.C.E.E.T.S. Advisers and Officers, Office of the Student Affairs, The General Education Student Council, Faculty and Staff, Urban Smile and the students.
