SportsFest 2012

One school, two branches with one team winning three championships. It turned out to be the story as the 2012 edition of Sports Festival of Interface Computer College was held at Patricia Sports Complex, Tondo, Manila, September 19 to 22. Selected areas in Manila and Caloocan witnessed the motorcade of teams and muses adding color and delight prior to the opening ceremony.

With much anticipated games of rival teams, some were victorious; some faced the agony of defeat.

Aiming to promote Unity and Sportsmanship, Interfacers from Manila and Caloocan were treated to exciting and thrilling games from different teams and players, showcasing their competitiveness, talents, and skills through sports.

It was a time for students, alumni and even the employees and staff of ICC, to once again prove that, Interfacers excel not only in academics, but also in sports.

Several basketball games needed clutch baskets in the dying seconds of the game to decide the winner. Interfacers witnessed big baskets from one team to another, from one player to another. With the game on the line, there were big shots after big shots.

Emerging as the most victorious team was FLASH MX from ICC Caloocan, bagging three championships with the Best in Uniform special award as a bonus prize.

Ms.Anjierutt Corpuz of Brontox Avira, first year Tourism student from ICC Manila, was adjudged as the Best Muse.

Shockwave won 2nd Place in Basketball while Brontox Avira won runner up prizes for Basketball and Volleyball Men and Women.

Team color games also drew attention as students representing their team battled out for Sipa, Dragon Tail, and Patintero as side events for the four-day festivities.

Mark Angelo Cardines of Mozilla Firefox won a Globe Tattoo Broadband Kit after successfully making a half-court shot while Flory Jane Manayaga of Brontox Avira’s Women Volleyball Team sank a three-point shot to get an Internet kit from Globe. On the other hand, ICC Caloocan cheer dancers won the Cheer Dance competition.

ICC Manila and Caloocan Alumni

The crowd was also treated with exhibition games featuring employees and Alumni. ICC Manila employees and staff prevailed over ICC Caloocan opponents both on basketball and volleyball. In another down-the-wire basketball exhibition game, ICC Manila Alumni also won over Caloocan’s Alumni team.

Indoor games like Chess, Table Tennis and Dart were also part of the annual sports activity. (For complete list of winners, see below).

The school officials and committee members extend their gratitude to those who contributed to the success of this annual activity: Interface Computer College Management, Manila Sports Council (MASCO), Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU), Public Recreations Bureau (PRB), Patricia Sports Complex Management, Barangay 177 Chairman Eddie Yu and Council, Barangay 178 Chairman Jeffrey Morejos and Council, Reformed Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management (RDPSTM), ICC Alumni and GuanzonAgri Inc.

With the joy and excitement brought by Sportsfest 2012, Interfacers couldn’t wait and now with anticipation, excited for the next battle.

Will ICC Manila be able to exact revenge to redeem their status as the overall champion, or will ICC Caloocan continue its toast to victory? Everyone will find out come September 2013.
