Buwan ng Wika 2019 Celebration (Manila Campus)

          As part of the Buwan ng Wika, Interface Computer College Manila held its talent show for the candidates of Lakan and Lakambinis last August 23. Students gathered inside the school’s MPH as they watch their fellow classmates show their different talents. The program was hosted by Ms. Aessel Joy Taccad and Ms. Joanna Savandal. The candidates showcase different talents such as spoken poetry, singing, dancing, and acting while the school’s staff judges them to add for their performance points. The short talent show was filled with joy and excitement as students cheer for their favorite candidates.

Main Event

          The student’s nationalism is evident as Interface Computer College Manila celebrates its annual Buwan ng Wika with the year’s theme: “Wikang Katutubo: Tungo Sa Isang Bansa”. On the thirtieth of August, ICC Manila held its Buwan ng Wika inside the school’s MPH which is organized by the college students and school staff. The event was hosted by aspiring Grade 11 students which are: Jericho Borja, Precious Suarez, and Jackie Antoyne. The program started with the opening prayer, followed by the singing of the national anthem, and the singing of the Interface Hymn. Students erupts in cheer as the program finally started where senior high school teachers show their talent in dancing and performed with their costumes in touch of the event’s theme. It was then followed by the competition for students who excels in poetry, the spoken poetry competition, which was participated by different students from different sections of senior high. It was followed by one of the most awaiting competitions which show the student’s teamwork and creativity, the Sabayang Pagbigkas, wherein a creative poem by Jennifer Aguilar was used by the students. It was then cut to give way for the Quiz Bee of the students from senior high. After the three round competition which was participated by pairs from different sections, the Sabayang Pagbigkas continues. Lastly, Lakan and Lakambinis walk in their national costume which excites the whole crowd. Students cheer and erupt in joy and excitement as the judges chose the last five Lakambinis and the last six Lakans. The competition ended successfully with the new crowned Lakan and Lakambinis, and special awards for the other candidates.
