Davao Campus - A Filipino Celebration of “Buwan ng Wika”

          Last August 29 & 30, 2019, Interface Computer College - Davao made another successful event celebrating Buwan ng Wika with the theme: “Wikang Katutubo: Tungo sa Isang Bansa Filipino”. Teachers and students attended the event wearing their Philippine National Costume.

          Students gave all their time and sweat practicing their performances for the contest of Etnikong Sayaw. Students who joined the “Malikhaing Pagguhit” gave their best at making their posters showing the fundamental value of the Filipino culture and language as well as the ethnic tribes. Students who joined the “Pagsulat ng Sanaysay” worded their thoughts to their papers writing the importance of the Filipino culture as well as the ethnic languages. Students who participated in “Tagisan ng Talino” brawled with their intelligence and knowledge to answer the questions given by the hosts, while participants at Balagtasan, Spoken poetry, Kundiman, at Talumpatiang di-handa kept their composures while performing showing their emotions through words. Then, Lakan at Lakambini showed off their stunning creative malongs and national costumes.

          The culmination of the event was the awarding of the Lakan and Lakambini and other contests. Students and teachers who attended the event left with joy and a lesson about the importance and the value of the Wikang Filipino and its culture.
