Nutrition Month 2019 at ICC Caloocan

           Interface Computer College Inc, Caloocan Campus (ICC) marked its first celebration of Nutrition Month with  its  focal  theme: "Kumain  ng Wasto  at Maging  Aktibo... Push  Natin  'To."  The  celebrate  aims  to promote consumption of healthy food and drinks,  eating  and  choosing  healthy choices  regularly,  making  healthy  eating habit  and  lifestyle,  and  being  active  and exercising daily. 

          The  rousing  event  was  spearheaded  by  Ms.  Mary  Grace  N.  Gonzales,  SHS Coordinator and Mr. Jerry C. Agbayani Jr., College Dean. The main event was held in Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) last July 26, 2019. Side by side, the activities set off (fliptop battle, spoken poetry, nutri jingle contest) in the MPH, 2nd floor (debate, poster and slogan making) and bar (food  fest).  The  enthusiastic  students from  Senior  High  School  and  College participated  in  the  different  activities with  the  help  of  distinctive  clubs  and organizations  such  as  the  Supreme Student Council (SSC), ICC Association Computer  Students  (IACS),  Interface Society  of  Tourism,  Hotel  and Restaurant  Management  Services (ISTOHRM),  Collegian  Entrepreneur Organization  (CEO),  Serious About  Science  Society (SASS), Glee Club, Math Club, and English Club.  To  make  a  delightful event more exciting, the Senior High  School  Department prepared  a  variety  of  activities that  will  boost  the  students' ability  and  excellence  by engaging  in  Slogan  Making Contest,  On  the  Spot  Poster Making  Contest,  Digital Photography  Contest,  Food Fest, Essay Writing Contest, Fliptop Battle, Debate, Nutri-Jingle Contest, Spoken Poetry  and Best in Nutrition Costume.  

          To lead the flow of the program, the Masters of Ceremonies of the event were Cristel Coronel from ABM11 A1 and Fred Aldreidge from ICT11 A1.   The program was invocated by  the Glee  Club members  and  officers  followed  by  the  Philippine National Anthem  and Interface Hymn. 

          The College Dean, Mr. Jerry C. Agbayani, spoke his inspirational and well-spoken message among students.  This was followed by the presentation of the schedule of activities lead by Ms. Shaira M. Villaronte.  

           For  Slogan  Making  Contest,  Mr. Joseph Capili from ABM 12 A1 got the 3rd  place  with  his  slogan  “Prutas  at  gulay pagkaing  aalalay  sa  resistensyang matamlay,  upang  sakit  ay  hindi  sumilay  at humaba ang buhay.”  For the 2nd placer, Ms. Princess Heidi Velasquez from ABM 11 A1 got  her  certificate  for  her  winning  slogan “Malusog  na  katawan  sa wastong  pagkain makakamtan. Dagdagan ng ehersisyo, tiyak malaking benepisyo.” And for the 1st place of the Slogan Making Contest, Mr. Drian Orato from ICT 12 A1 got the highest recognition for his slogan “Nourished yourself by eating wisely  for the good health of your body.” Each of  the winners got their certificates for their enthusiasm participation on the said activity. The school campus also conduct an “On the Spot Poster Making Contest” that is open from both College and Senior High School Students. The aim of this activity is to enhance the minds of the students in making and drawing that is correlated to the given theme. The 3rd place on  the  event  was Mr.  Althea  Chelsea  Baron  from  HOS  12  A1,  the  2nd  place  was Mr. Adrianne Mark Argallon from ICT 12 A1 and for the 1st place Mr. Edrian Caadyang from ICT 11 A1. For the Digital Poster Making Contest, Mr. Robert Alfred Ramos from BSIT 4th year got his certificate for  recognition.    For  the Digital Photography Contest, The 3rd place goes  to Mr. Charles De Asis  from HOS 12 A1,  for  the 2nd place Ms. Cathryn Sulit  from ABM 12 A1 and for the 1st place, Mr. Joshua Nullas from BRS 12 A1. The winners for food fest are BRS and HOS 11 A1 who got the 3rd place and BRS 12 A2 who got the 2nd place and for the winner BRS 12 A1 who got the 1st place. For the Essay Writing Contest, Ms. Cristel Coronel won  for her  write-up.  The  Fliptop  Battle  winner  were  Mr. Joven Golimlim  from BSIT 4th year and Mr. Romel Nacuray  from  BSBA  4th  year.  The  winner  for  the Nutri-Jingle  contest  are  the  students  from  BSBA  4th year that put so much effort in mixing secular songs and adding some upbeats sounds to make it more pleasant to  the  eyes  of  the  audience.  For  the  Spoken  Poetry Contest, Mr. Enrico Alvarez  got  the  recognition  by proving his excellence in writing a poem and presenting it in front of the crowd.. For the finale, Ms. Leslie Ann Alburo from ABM 12 A1  receives  the recognition as the Best in Nutrition Gown 2019.  

          The Celebration of The Nutrition Month was under  the Presidential Decree No. 491, the  Nutrition  Act  of  the  Philippines,  the  National  Nutrition  Council  (NNC)  leading  the observance of National Nutrition Month and DepEd Memorandum No. 82 2019.
