Iloilo City, April 20, 2024 – Interface Computer College- Iloilo was excited as the annual ICC Hinampang Sportsfest 2024 unfolded from April 16 to 20. The Sportsfest, held at the Barangay Dungon A. Jaro, Iloilo City, brought together teams from different departments, each vying for the coveted championship titles in various sports competitions. Under the theme, "TIKAS NG PINOY: WEAVING TRADITIONS, BRIDGING GENERATION – A CULTURAL ODYSSEY AT ICC DAYS 2024," this year's event celebrated not just athletic prowess but also the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines.

The Sportsfest, a much-anticipated event in the school calendar, brought together participants of all ages, fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship spirit. The week-long event was marked by a series of competitive sports, such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess and traditional Filipino games laro ng lahi which includes Chinese garter, tug of war, and sack race which added a nostalgic touch to the festivities.

"The theme this year resonates deeply with our community as it reflects our commitment to preserving our cultural traditions while embracing the new generation," said Ms. Villarosa, School Admin. "Through sports and cultural activities, we are not only promoting physical fitness but also strengthening our community bonds."

 One of the highlights of the event was the opening parade, where participants proudly displayed their team colors and showcased Philippine Mythological Deities, symbolizing the unity of generations through sports and culture. The lively atmosphere was made even more exciting by the "Search for Miss Hinampang 2024." This highly anticipated pageant added a touch of glamour and cultural significance to the Sportsfest. Each department presented their representative, who not only displayed elegance but also represented the values and traditions of their respective programs. The pageant was more than just a contest of grace and poise; it was a celebration of cultural identity. The crowning of Miss Hinampang was met with great excitement, as she was recognized not only for her beauty but also for her dedication to promoting and preserving Filipino culture.

  The final day of Hinampang, held on April 20, marked a triumphant close to the event as the Department of Business Administration secured the top position. Their victory highlighted their dedication, preparation, and teamwork, establishing them as a formidable presence throughout the competition. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the champions received their trophy. The 2024 Sportsfest concluded on a triumphant note, creating unforgettable memories for participants and spectators alike, celebrating a cultural journey that paid homage to tradition while looking forward to the future.

Jessa Tayo, Governor of the Student Government, echoed these sentiments, saying, "This Sportsfest truly embodied our theme—honoring our traditions while looking forward to the future."

The event concluded with an awards ceremony, celebrating the athletes and teams who displayed exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork throughout the competition. The Sportsfest was more than just a series of games; it was a powerful reminder of the enduring Filipino spirit—resilient, united, and deeply rooted in tradition.  As the sun set on the final day, everyone left with memories of a week filled with joy, unity, and pride in their cultural heritage. The ICC Days Sportsfest 2024 was a resounding success, celebrating Filipino identity by weaving together traditions and bridging generations in a true cultural odyssey.
