[Molo, Iloilo City] — PAGSUGOD 2025: General Student’s Orientation for Academic Year 2025–2026 officially kicked off on July 7, 2025, at Interface Computer College – Iloilo City Campus. The orientation was held to welcome Senior High School learners, transferees, and freshmen students, and to familiarize them with the institution’s norms, campus facilities, academic policies, and student support services.
The program began with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Iloilo City Hymn. Ms. Sylvia Villarosa, LPT, the School Administrator, then delivered a warm and heartfelt welcome message to the newest batch of students.
“Here at Interface, we aim to guide you not only to excel in your chosen tracks and strands, but also to uncover and nurture your hidden talents,” Ms. Villarosa said.
She encouraged both students and parents to collaborate with the institution in ensuring learners’ success throughout the academic year.
“As you begin this exciting journey, I encourage you to always do your best. Stay focused, set your goals, and prioritize your education—for it is your ticket to a brighter future,” she added.
To energize the audience, Justin Lim Plana, a fourth-year BSBA student, offered an inspiring intermission number. His musical performance helped ease the nerves of the new students and set a positive tone for the rest of the program.
A Virtual Campus Tour followed, giving students a glimpse of ICC Iloilo’s inclusive and innovative learning environment—providing a sense of familiarity with the campus and its facilities.
The orientation commenced with Ms. Villarosa presenting an overview of ICC’s administrative structure and services. She introduced the various departments, as well as the faculty and staff who will guide students throughout their academic journey.
Next, Ms. Joy Calamay, Assistant Registrar, discussed essential topics such as admission policies, academic retention, student records, and procedures for requesting official documents. Her session helped students understand how their academic data is maintained and how to access their grades and certifications.
Ms. Lea Tamallana, Accounting Officer, delivered a clear and informative discussion on school fees, payment procedures, and available scholarship programs. She addressed frequently asked questions regarding deadlines and eligibility for financial assistance.
The event also featured a short open forum led by Mr. Ronnel Catiempo, LPT, Head of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). He emphasized the value of co-curricular activities in shaping students' personalities and leadership skills. He introduced various student organizations, including The Coterie, ICC’s official student publication, which he aims to revive this August. Mr. Catiempo also encouraged students with leadership potential to run for positions in the Student Government Council and other school organizations.
In a timely and relevant segment, Ms. Angel Baron, CHRA, Guidance Coordinator, discussed mental health awareness and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing emotional and psychological support. She reassured everyone that her office is always open to students who need guidance or simply someone to talk to.
Mr. Ronel Ollosa, LPT, Adviser of the Student Crime Committee and NSTP & P.E. Coordinator, presented the institution’s rules and policies. He clarified the levels of disciplinary action and stressed the importance of accountability.
“Every action you make has a corresponding consequence,” he said, highlighting the value of responsibility and discipline.
The program also included a special segment from the Student Government, led by Ms. Joan Soldevilla, Student Government Adviser. She introduced the incumbent SG officers and presented some of the past activities and events organized by the council.
Mr. Raymond Trivilegio, SG Governor; Ms. Cheryl Tayo, SG Board Member; and Mr. Rhenz Mark Anasarias, SG Board Member, each shared testimonies about their leadership journeys. They spoke about how the Student Government helped them grow in confidence, serve their fellow students, and build strong connections with the school administration. Their stories inspired freshmen to explore their interests and become actively involved in school organizations.
The program concluded with the singing of the ICC Hymn, leaving students with a deep sense of pride, belonging, and enthusiasm for the year ahead.
