ICC CHED Scholarship Grantees Join the Western Visayas Scholars' Congress

The Interface Computer College CHED Scholarship grantees actively participated in the Western Visayas Scholars’ Congress organized by the Commission on Higher Education- Regional Office VI (CHEDRO VI), held the Urdaneta Hall, University of San Agustin, on November 13, 2025 with the theme: “Kinaadman kag Kauswagan”.
The said congress was attended by numerous CHED scholars and school officials from various public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) across Western Visayas- including Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Guimaras.
The congress was graced by CHED’s top officials who sent their inspiring and compelling messages to the scholars.
Notably, Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, the outgoing CHEDRO VI Director IV, highlighted the CHEDRO VI’s significant accomplishments and contributions under his leadership. He also challenged the scholars to remain noble, honest, and steadfast to doing what is right.
The scholars gained valuable lessons and insights from various invited resource speakers who underscored the scholars’ pivotal role and contributions in transforming society. Moreover, they were reminded and encouraged to serve with purpose, give back to their communities, and use their knowledge and competencies to create positive change.
The afternoon session was filled with inspiration from invited former CHED scholars who shared their stories of struggle and success. Their testimonies served as proof of the transformative impact and power of education made possible through the scholarship program.

ICC sent seven (7) CHED scholars to this congress. They were accompanied by the school officials- Ms. Lea L. Tamallana, Scholarship Coordinator, Ms. Sylvia A. Villarosa, School Administrator, Ms. Joy C. Calamay, Registrar, and Mr. Ron C. Catiempo, Head of the Office of Student Affairs. Their presence at the event manifested the school's support for its scholars and its commitment to empowering students to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.
The congress was a gathering and a celebration of the scholars’ “Kinaadman and Kauswagan”- wisdom and progress. It aimed to empower scholars to relentlessly pursue their dreams and achieve the highest possible standards of education.
